Solution

Squeeze is a tangible wearable which not only allows user to work without distraction, but also detects the users stress level and update a close friend or family member of choice. These social support elements can at the push of a button can cause the wearable to squeeze of the users wrist simulating touch which allows the user a momentary break from the stressful activity.

Challenge

Workaholism is one of the biggest problems in society today leading to work-life dysfunction. In this project I had to research the causes and effects of workaholism, through understanding user psychology and social dynamics.

Final Offering

Based on the ideation, final offering was designed as a more refined version of the glove working that detects increased stress levels based on a Galvanic Skin Response Sensors which senses change in electrical resistance through sweat which is directly proportional to the emotional response.

As the upper limit of stress is exceeded the device sends a message to a trusted family member or a friend, who can make the device squeeze the wearers wrist momemtarily giving them a break from stressful activity by reminding him/her that they have been cared for.
